![]() This morning I sent off this Dragon Mug to Kansas City, for the 50th NCECA Conference. I'm excited to be able to participate and be a part of NCECA in this small way. I hope to be able to hand deliver my contribution next year though. More and more I see the importance of being part of NCECA by being there. There are so many artists I'd like to meet, and there are some I'd like to thank for being an inspiration and part of my ceramics education. Back in January I promised that there were a lot of great things planned for 2016. Today I'm launching the newly designed Misfit Dynamo website.

As I was updating my Etsy ABOUT page, I realized that I still haven't taken down Fellini as an employee. I still don't think I can. He was such an important part of my studio. If I was in there, so was he. He would sleep in front of the door and wait for me to come down and get to work. He spent his final hours laying next to the wheel, the sound of it calming him while he slept. Fellini was a potter.
In small ways he's still there with me. I use his old dish as my water bowl for throwing and his collar is hung on the wall. The other dogs visit and check in on me these days. Soon I think I'll officially hire Sammy as the studio dog. She seems to be the one to always be there when I'm working, and has a similar sweetness. Since the beginning of 2016 I've been working hard towards improving Misfit Dynamo.
There are a lot of great new things coming up. I'm excited, and I hope some of you will be as well. ![]() When Misfit Dynamo was first created, I meant to incorporate all the things I loved to do. As time went on my focus became pottery, and other projects found themselves on an ever-growing to-do list. Recently my need to photograph has been rekindled. I've come to realize that I don't have to choose one discipline, and that being a potter and a photographer can co-exist. In that spirit, as of today I'm introducing photography into the world of Misfit Dynamo. The beautiful weather allows for some great vendor opportunities.
This Sunday, May 3rd we'll be at the Market at the Milleridge Market, opening day. It's from 11am-4pm. There'll be music, food, and other local artists selling their work. 585 N Broadway Jericho, New York ![]() Amazed at all the amazing pottery the Metropolitan Museum of Art has on view. Inspiring and a little overwhelming. There's a special exhibit, Making Pottery Art, that is a must see. You have until March 15th 2015 to see it. |
